This weekend is perfect for acting students desiring an intensive studio experience prior to "the big audition", and for the actor-wannabe. ready for a brief brush up/introduction to the actor’s primary tool (what if) and analytical language: motivation, objectives, stakes, obstacles, tactics (listening and reacting) and outcomes. Familiarity with the language of drama will occur through immersion in relaxation techniques, trust work, the dynamics of movement, voice work, and discovery of "isms", as you begin (or continue) your journey of "becoming" character.
Rest assured that intermissions will be taken as you journal your process while enjoying Wilde Oaks’ 2 ½ wooded acres, drifting towards sleep in luxury linens lulled by nature’s song, sweating out toxins in a therapeutic infrared sauna, relaxing in hot tub or by campfire, partaking of gourmet breakfasts, 1 lunch, ever-present snacks, and gaining character insight in reflective solitude, and under the watchful guidance of Susan/Edward. An actor cannot see him/herself. Let our experienced directors’ eyes help you explore your actor-potential as you prepare in the casual elegance of Wilde Oaks, your "up North, down South" studio stop on your way to self-esteem and actor confidence!
