One of our most unique and creative weekend offerings, this role-playing package is a variation of comedian Steve Allen’s groundbreaking, award-winning "A Meeting of the Minds" TV show.

When booking this package (based on double occupancy), you will "cast yourself" as your favorite historical figure or celebrity, and email us your preferences.
Upon arrival at Wilde Oaks, innkeepers Edward and Susan Kernish (both former professional actors/theater educators) will provide you with a packet of researched information about your selected figure. Before retiring to your luxury accommodations at Wilde Oaks, you will read through your packet and ask any clarifying questions you may have. Arise the next morning to a "historically themed" gourmet breakfast (if you’re Sherlock Holmes, you may be having Shepard’s Pie!), and begin informal (character/ motivational) discussion with Edward.
Mid-morning, you will "don" your "historical garb" (costume provided by Wilde Oaks), and "The Meeting of the Minds" will begin!! A series of questions (composed to encourage lively discussion in the persona of your characters) will be answered. The session will be videotaped, so that you have a souvenir of your acting debut! For those interested in their "15 minutes of fame" (per Andy Warhol) and LOCAL celebrity, the ½ hour recording will be scheduled to be shown on Access Vision. After the mind meeting, hors d’oeuvres will be served, and you STILL have a second night to enjoy the comfort and ambience of Wilde Oaks, or to explore antique markets in Albion, Marshall, Allen, Jackson, or Battle Creek. A minimum of 2 weeks’ lead-time is necessary for costume and background preparations.
